Turks still remember
Six football players of the Azerbaijani "Khazar" team were prohibited from sitting on the plane at the Istanbul airport because they were "late for registration", as reported by Azerbaijani presses.
Interestingly, other passengers were being registered at the same time. When one of the Azerbaijani football players asked an airport employee why there was such discrimination between other passengers and the team players, the employee replied: "Your team shouldn't have won".
Let us remind that the Azerbaijani team won the Turkish national team 1:0 in the selective match for the European championship on October 11.
The Azerbaijani team was returning from training and not all team players left for Baku. As far as the "late" football players, they sat on the next plane and paid an excess fare.
