Vardan Minasyan sounds optimistic
Ahead of a Partizan-Pyunik game within the framework of the the UEFA Champions League Qualifier, chief coach of FC Pyunik Vardan Minasyan gave a press conference in Belgrade.
"Though Partizan is considered to be the favourite, our footballers do not fear their rival. We are aware of all changes made in Partizan. The team is in a good shape with excellent footballers. We respect our rival but we do not fear it. Each team has weak and strong players," he said.
Before leaving for Belgrade, Minasyan announced that Pyunik will do its utmost to enter the next round.
The coach also said it would be much more preferable to win several rounds in the Champions League rather than to become the country's champion.
"I think that our victory over Partizan is realistic taking into account Partizan's performance," Minasyan said in Yerevan.
Today in Belgrade Pyunik's chief coach said, "We should first overcome the first step and then think of the return match."
The first match vs. Serbia's Partizan is due July 14. The return match will be held on July 21 in Yerevan.
