Akopian scores long-awaited victory
Armenian grandmaster Vladimir Akopian celebrated his first victory in the 8th round of Men's Grand Prix in Astrakhan. Playing white, Akopian defeated Russia's Ernesto Inakriev.

Pavel Elyanov (Ukraine), Peter Leko of (Hungary) Dmitri Yakovenko (Russia) and Vugar Gashimov (Azerbaijan) share the first place with 4,5 point each.
