Vladimir Akopian ties with Azerbaijan’s Mammadyarov
Armenian grandmaster Vladimir Akopian tied a game with Azerbaijan's Shahryar Mammadyarov in the 4th round of Men's Grand Prix in Astrakhan, Russia.
With 1,5 points, the Armenian GM yields to the tournament leaders with one point.
In the 5th round Akobian will rival Azerbaijan's Vugar Gashimov, another leader of the tournament.
After the 4th round, six chess players head the standings. The reason is that six out of seven games of the round ended in a tie.
