The World chess championship match between reigning World Champion Viswanathan Anand and his challenger, former World Champion Veselin Topalov of Bulgaria Veselin Topalov remains tied after the third game on Tuesday.

The world champion was cautious in his steps. Topalov, playing with white and thus the first move, was looking for a reprise of his crushing win in game one, but Anand switched opening systems and set about neutralising all Topalov's efforts to take the initiative

On the 30th move, the sides had to tie the game. But Topalov would not give in and continued the match. Anand then removed the most dangerous attacking piece from the board making his challenger accept the draw.

The first draw in the match to date leaves the score tied at 1.5-1.5 with nine games remaining. The 4th game is due on Wednesday.
