Development Bank to be operator

The Armenian government and the Eurasian Development Bank signed an agreement today.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan today attended the official signing of an agreement on "Conditions for the presence of the Eurasian Development Bank in the Republic of Armenia between the Republic of Armenia and the Eurasian Development Bank".

The agreement was signed by RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan and chairman of the board of the Eurasian Development Bank Igor Finogenov.

The agreement envisages the opening of the bank's permanent representation in Armenia.

Memoranda of cooperation were also signed between the Eurasian Development Bank and the RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, "ArmRusGazProm", "South Caucasus Railways", "International Energy Corporation" and "ArmBusinessBank" CJSC.

Armenia also became a full-fledged member of the Eurasian Development Bank.

"We have already prepared several projects which have been presented to the bank administration for discussion. The issue on reinforcing the bank's activities is also being discussed by heads of states of the CIS and finance ministers," said Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

He also informed that the Eurasian Development Bank will also be the operator used by the Anti-Crisis Fund created within the framework of the CIS, meaning that the "bank's activities can be based on many plans and multifunctional."
