This morning principal of school N78 of Yerevan Azniv Mirzoyan received an SMS about a bomb installed in the school.

The principal immediately called the police which arrived to the scene under leadership of deputy chief of city police Ashot Mirijanyan. The department of emergency situations, rescue service with search dogs, the national security service and the ambulance were also there.

The police said students of schools N 78 and N 172 were evacuated for security purposes. The children had noticed smoke and were spreading rumors that a grenade had exploded in the military class at school N 78.

After searching, deputy head of Yerevan police on operations Ashot Mirijanyan told "A1+" that it was a false alarm.

School principal Azniv Mirzoyan told "A1+" that the message was sent by a person abroad.

There had never been such an incident at the school and the students hadn't had any problems.

"The incident was highly unexpected, but fortunately, it was a false alarm and everything is back to normal," said Mirzoyan.

The children went home, while rescuers continued working.
