2 CONVENTIONAL YEARS FOR THE MURDER

Two years ago the RF citizen Sergey Khachatryan, Armenian by nationality, was murdered in Moscow. He was a student of the third year, getting higher education in Moscow. Late at night he received a phone call from his girlfriend after which left for the Marino district immediately, but on the way his car was stopped by a drunken woman – Alexandra Ivannikova, and at 04:00 a.m. the dead body of Sergey was found in his car. According to the preliminary investigation, the drunken woman had killed the Sergey with a knife and left the place.

Today the head of the Armenian Helsinki Committee Avetiq Ishkhanyan rendered a pres conference with the participation of Sergey's sister Elena Baghdasaryan to inform the society about the injustice which took place during the trial. First the criminal case was aroused according to the 111th article of the criminal code – Intentional murder, but suddenly it was changed into murder for the aims of self-protection.

The sister of the victim Elena complained that the murdered was sentenced to two conditional years instead of 12. Besides being free today, Alexandra Ivannikova has been given and accepted an award of 50 thousand Russian rubles by a Fascist organization. And the Baghdasaryans family did not manage to protect the rights of their murdered son.

Avetiq Ishkhanyan expressed an opinion that the Armenian Government must engage in the protection of not only the citizens of Armenia, but also the Armenians of the Diaspora. By the way, the press conference was rendered in the hall of the Journalists Union which is only a couple of steps away from the North Avenue and the Buzand street.
