IMBROGLIO OVER COMPENSATIONS CONTINUES
Support A1+!People driven from their homes because of Northern Avenue construction gathered outside Yerevan City Hall on Monday. The protesters say contracts on compensations for their eviction were signed in February 2004 while the compensations were paid in June, when real estate prices leapt, so they couldn’t buy anything.
“They paid us $250 for each square meter and sold for 1,500. We demand proper compensation”, said one of the protesters.
Municipality officials advised the demonstrators to go to Northern Avenue construction office. There they were told that the official decision is needed before.
