FINANCE MINISTRY TRYING TO CRACK DOWN ON LOTTERY FRAUD

Speaking today at a news conference Finance Minister Vardan Khachatryan voiced alarm at tremendous difficulties the ministry face combating against fraud in lottery business.

He informed that regular audits are being conducted in companies involved in lottery businesses. Casinos as well will undergo audits, he said.

Under the law, it is possible to strip a company from license “in case of an obvious fraud”, Khachatryan said and added it is very difficult to prosecute a company because the law wording is so unclear.
