CHRIST WAS BORN AND APPEARED
Support A1+!Today some of Christian Churches celebrate Birth of Christ. A Church celebrates that Armenian Apostolic holiday on January 6. By the 4th century Christendom has celebrated Christ’ Birth on January 6. But even after Christianity had been adopted the Romans kept celebrating pagan holidays.
The Holiday of Worship of Sun used to be celebrated on December 25. To do away with the pagan traditions in 336 Rome Church officially declared December 25 the Birth Day of Jesus Christ.
Later in Assyria and the East the Holiday for Christ Birth was postponed on December 25 and January 6 remained as the Baptism Day.
Only the Armenian Church stayed loyal to the ancient tradition and the biblical calculations – on January 6 it jointly celebrates Christ Birth and Baptism Holidays.
