Science and culture representatives and those Armenian citizens once having been given assistance by Archbishop Mesrop Ashchyan, who died Tuesday of a heart attack, staged a rally today outside the House of Armenian Government demanding his burial to take place in Armenia.

A delegation of the rally participants was received by a government representative, who assured the demonstrators that the government’s attitude toward their demand is positive, but, at the same time, he noted that the Church functions separately from the state and a decision should be made by Kilikian Catholicos Aram the First.
