“NEW GEOPOLITICAL DEVELOPMENTS AND THE SOUTHERN CAUCASUS”
Support A1+!”New Geopolitical Reality and Southern Caucasus” seminar took place in Congress Hotel. “Agreement” Centre and Fridrich Ebert Fund initiated it. Ex and present members of Armenian National Movement mainly were the seminar participants.
Politicians Hrach Galstyan and Aghasi Enokyan introduced their theses over the new geopolitical developments, approaches and the problems threatening the Southern Caucasus.
Globalisation passed on to the structural phase from the elemental one. According to Galstyan, unlike the first phase not only the states but also subjects and super national institutes appear in the second one. New world system is established, which menaces ideas such as religion, ethnic characteristic, residence territory etc.
Mania for creating new world system has recently become more apparent – terrorism, drug and weapon sale, humanitarian disasters etc, the politician says.
What kind of danger are there over the Southern Caucasus? David Shahnazaryan, presiding over the seminar, said our region had been identified with Central Asia till now. By his words, there is tendency to comprehend the Southern Caucasus as a part of Middle East . Southern Caucasus loses in both cases. According to Shahnazaryan, the authorities of Southern Caucasus states are those to blame, who didn’t realise what the common interest was and didn’t join.
