"A1+" TV CHANNEL BANNING FROM AIR IS OF CIVIC RIGHT ISSUE.14 PARTIES MEETING

"We don't think the issue of "A1+" TV Channel shut down is to be studied only in the legal background.First of all it is of civic right issue. That's why the political powers are to take part in the action",- announced Armenian National party secretary Stepan Zakaryan on 14 political parties meeting in Armenian National party office.

Those to have met noted that "A1+" TV Channel suppress was not of the Channel issue only. As Parliament deputy Shavarsh Kocharyan saidserious steps are taken in Armenia to eliminate freedom of speech. Deputy Norik Petrosyan reminded that "A1+" TV was the only one to give opposition figures an opportunity to express their standpoints. As he thinks the tomorrow meeting in the Freedom Square will prove "whether public still suffers from authorities' policy or not?".

On meeting issue "Republic" party head Albert Bazeyan said they had applied to the Municipality for Ambulance and proper order introducers presence ensurance.

Mr. Bazeyan informed thatArmenian National Movement party hadn't been called upon to join the 14 parties. As he said it is explained with thatmany Mass Media were suppressed when Armenian National Movement held the power.

"Meeting will approve a joint statement, mass actions will be continued",- ensured Mr.Bazeyan. Deputy Arshak Sadoyan hoped that meeting on 5th the April will make drastic changes in State governing structure.

Mr. Sadoyan stressed Mass Media importance in this matter:"Public is to be aware of that TV and Radio National Commission head and vice-head unlike the rest members are "paid people". As Arshak Sadoyan said Mass Media are to be able to show type of such people who perform orders.
