Tomorrow Edward Mirzoyan will celebrate his 85 anniversary. His audience will be given a chance to listen to his best works in two days.

Pianist Shahan Artsruni and composer Martin Vardazaryan, violoncello Medea Abrahamyan and opera singers Nuneh Badalyan will present their interpretation of the composers’ works in chamber music hall on May 14.

Edward Mirzoyan doesn’t like to celebrate his birthdays and says that tomorrow will be an ordinary day for him and adds half jokingly, “I announce tomorrow a day of open meetings.”

Composer Martin Vardazaryan describes Edward Mirzoyan’s works in the following way, “They resemble a stone castle as each of them is eternal it contains both juvenile’s blood and permanent value”

According to opera singer Nuneh Badalyan she is happy to have an opportunity to get acquainted with such a person and composer, “One can feel the touch of love, frankness in his works and I am grateful to him for such music.”

Despite his age, Edward Mirzoyan continues to compose and his last work will be presented at the concert which will be held on May 14; 4 romances about seasons.

His first musical attempts the composer made at the age of 17 and now recalling those days he qualifies it as a “musical turmoil.” “At first I called it “March” then “Strike” and finally I found the most suitable name “Bloody Sunday.” It was about the events of Gum Gapu which occurred in 1905. But the romance was never performed as it is not finished yet,” says the great composer.
