COMPROMISE FOR THE SAKE OF DIGNIFIED PEACE
Support A1+!«The recent developments in the negotiation process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution confirms that the priority task of the Armenian and Azerbaijani authorities’ is to preserve the status quo that lasts since 1994.
Robert Kocharyan who seized power in 1998 by exploiting the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict continues aborting the peaceful resolution of the conflict in order to extend his grip on power through reversing Armenia’s development.
As a result of the latest eight years policy Armenia has regressed both politically and economically; small achievements in the areas of human rights, basic freedoms and freedom of speech have been destroyed completely, free market relations have been replaced by oligarchic economy and quasi-feudal relations, the country has been ousted from all major regional economic and geo-political projects and since then unprecedented wave of migration continues to disperse major components of Armenian statehood posing a direct threat to the security of Nagorno-Karabakh population.
In order to justify the policy of keeping the conflict unresolved subservient political parties and docile media sources, through creating an illusion of extreme nationalism are trying to show, that the Armenian society is not ready for peaceful resolution of the conflict and nonviolent coexistence with its neighbors.
Therefore, we, as citizens of the Republic of Armenia, condemn strongly the policy of the current Armenian regime to drag out the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and being confident that rejecting the currently available possibility to establish dignified peace on the basis of compromises is fraught with new and irreversible consequences for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Being strongly concerned over the fate of Armenia’s Statehood and Nagorno-Karabakh, we’ll multiply our efforts to establish irreversible democracy in Armenia, to make it a full subject of regional cooperation and security in Southern Caucasus, with the purpose of making Armenia a full-fledged member of the European family of nations.»
