THE «WORKED OVER» DEPUTIES RETRACTED THEIR SIGNATURES
Support A1+!Today the Constitutional Court decided to turn down the suit of NA deputies on building up the centre of the city. Justice bloc deputy Vardan Mkrtchyan had organized collection of signatures in NA, according to which CC must have taken under consideration articles 104, 106, 108 of Land Code, article 218 of Civil Code, and the constitutionality of the government’s decision on building up the centre of Yerevan city.
Yet, several days ago, some of the deputies having signed the suit applied to CC and took their signatures back. «Regret» applications were got from Chair of NA Committee on State-legal Affairs Rafik Petrosyan, Rafik Grigoryan, Levon Khachatryan, Artsruni Ghalumyan, Vahram Baghdasaryan. Up today there was hope that an action will be brought, as besides the signatures taken back, the 27 necessary signatures remained. According to the new RA Constitution at least 1/5 of deputies can turn to court. But today deputy of central community Volodya Badalyan rushed to take his signature back thus preventing the consideration of the case.
By the way, Volodya Badalyan was the first from opposition to sign the document. The opposition gave no explanations to NA deputy Vardan Mkrtchyan who had organized the collection of signatures. The latter thinks, that “it's clear that they have been worked over, as well as the rest of the non-oppositionist deputies”.
Though, to Vardan Mkrtchyan’s surprise, two deputies from “Orinats Yerkir” party showed adherence to principal and did not take their signatures back, and neither did a representative of Labor party and 4 independent deputies.
What has happened Vardan Mkrtchyan thinks to be rather negative and even shameful.
