POLICE PERSECUTING OPPOSITION REPRESENTATIVES

Since yesterday Article 23.6 of the RA law «On Referendum», according to which observers and media representatives should not be called to account for expressing opinion on the process of voting and returns of the referendum, has been violated.

The headquarters of the united opposition informed that such violations really took place. «Yesterday at about midnight two policemen approached member of Hanratetutyun party Rafik Mkrtchyan in the yard of his house, told he is suspected of running over a man and tried to take him to the police station. However some time later they went away. In the morning Rafik Mkrtchyan informed that the house is surrounded by the police.

To note, today at 9 a.m. 8 opposition representatives were taken to the Ashtarak police department for a «conversation».
