OPPOSITION DOES NOT WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN FICTION
Support A1+!''There are no problems with the text of the Constitution, however the Republic of Armenia has a problem with respecting the Constitution'', former vice speaker of the Armenian NA, Armat organization member Ara Sahakyan stated, who refused to comment on any amendments saying that any publication of dialogues, debates or even opinions of the constitutional amendments is an imitation of democracy and national discussions. In Sahakyan's words, the amendments will not change anything. So all the representatives of Armat will reject the attempts to involve them in the imitations of national discussions.
The parliamentary opposition does not take part in the discussions either. After the coalition refused three principles of the Constitution proposed by the opposition the Justice members are not interested the amendments. “On the whole our bloc supported the idea of dual citizenship, but we have not discussed the conditions under which the clause should be adopted”, Justice bloc member, Democratic party leader Aram Sargsyan said. However Mr. Sargsyan has his own opinion on the issue, “Every Armenian has the right to be a citizen of the Republic of Armenia. All the obligations and rights of the individuals with dual citizenship should be fixed in a corresponding law. However in democrats’ opinion people with dual citizenship must not take part in the elections ”, he says. According to Aram Sargsyan, the law “On Dual Citizenship” should also provide for a number of nuances connected with the national security.
