THE AIRCRAFT IS LATE

Politics

This morning the Armenian peacemaking division left for Iraq at Yerevan's “Zvartnots” airport. Our correspondent at the airport reports that the ceremony to see them off was delayed because the aircraft from Kuwait was late: Armenian peacemakers are to undergo training in Kuwait before leaving for Iraq.

Forty-six Armenian peacemakers are leaving for Iraq to carry out peacemaking activities for six months. The group consists of a General Commander, one representative of the Polish division, one platoon commander, 30 drivers, 10 field-engineers and 3 doctors. Parliament made the decision to send peacemakers to Iraq on December 24 during a closed meeting.
