COALITION TO BEAR RESPONSIBILITY

Politics

During today’s discussion of 2005 budget in Parliament the parties and groups have introduced their attitude over the bill on it. All the parties in Coalition appraised positively the document.

On behalf of his party ARF head Levon Mkrtchyan said: “We fully bear the responsibility for implementation of the clauses provided in the bill”.

The members of ARF think that 2005 budget adheres to the pre-election promises and the points fixed by Coalition Memorandum. “Land of Law” Party is pleased with the budget of the next year mentioning that the poverty level in Armenia is planned to reduce from 35% to 12,5%.

However, all the parties have found shortcomings in 2005 budget bill, too. “Land of Law” Party MPs remembered the issue of returning the deposits, which are not provided in 2005 budget.

According to “Land of Law” Party members, 3 milliard drams are necessary for returning the deposits, which doesn’t make an essential part in the supply of the budget of 375 milliard. Besides, it is suggested to return the deposits from the sums received from privatization of enterprises and the example of Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Industrial Complex was cited.

ARF members expressed discontent with the fact that despite the promises, the base wages for civil agents won’t be increased next year. It was to rise from 20.000 to 30.000 drams. All this will cost the budget 1,6 milliard drams, which is not a large sum, according to ARF MPs. Besides, ARF members consider that fixing 535 drams for the annual average rate of 1 dollar must be more substantiated.
