Babken Ararqtcyan, founder of “Armat” /Root/ Centre and ex Parliament Speaker has today been the guest of National Press Club. Yesterday “Armat” Centre for Development of Democracy and Civil Society held a meeting and released a statement, which voices anxiety for inward and foreign political failures of Armenia.
Today Babken Ararqtcyan has announced though he represents a social organization he is as well a member of “Armenian Nationwide Movement” Party, and as a political structure it realizes the volume of responsibility for Karabakhi conflict settlement.
Let’s remind that many ANM figures have accused the present Authorities and Parliament Opposition of supporting the freeze policy for karabakhi conflict. Babken Ararqtcyan confirmed this, too.
”When we are ready to go for negotiations and to seek for solutions, we get responses in that case and the attitude towards us is different. But when we avoid talks in every way possible and everyone realizes that the only aim of us is to keep this status quo, the international structures produce other arguments to us. It is normal and logical not only in the international relations but also in the human ones. There is no need to look for tricks here. Simpler and logical approaches are necessary to apply. The climate didn’t form in a day. It’s a consistent activity of years”, Babken Ararqtcyan commented on the recent unfavourable developments around Karabakhi conflict.
Despite this, Armenian parliamentary and diplomatic delegates return from various international organizations in the beaten position and justify themselves that Armenia doesn’t enjoy a friend state in the international instances like Turkey is for Azerbaijan.
Ex Parliament Speaker rejected this viewpoint. He also said that it is alleged in different documents for the first time that during the years of Karabakhi fighting Armenians performed ethnic cleaning and by force expulsion of population and exploited the occupied territory of another state.
Mr. Ararqtcyan considers leaving of the present Authorities and establishment of a legitimate power in Armenia as the only way to avoid failure for Karabakhi conflict settlement. Do the international structures hint Authorities to leave by passing unfavourable papers for Armenia? “They don’t say “Go away!”. But they say: “If you stay, we will speak with you this way”, Babken Ararqtcyan explained.
