SCHEFFER SAYS NO TROOPS TO BE DEPLOYED IN SOUTH CAUCASUS

Politics

On Friday, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said at his meeting with Yerevan State University’s students ruled out the possibility of NATO presence in South Caucasus saying Northern Alliance had no intention to deploy troops in the region.

One of the students said rumors were going around that NATO intended to dispatch peacekeeping forces to Fizuli, Jebrail and Kubatlu liberated territories. Is it true?

Scheffer denied the rumors saying he had heard nothing about that.
