”An MP is obliged to be honest, impartial, restrained and exemplary. He must not stress his official status mistakenly. He is obliged to exclude rudeness display in verbal and written contacts, to be respectful and patient with people and to follow the rules determined by moral norms widely accepted”, it’s a citation from the Armenian bill on “Behavior of MPs”.
Under it, an MP is obliged to show care for protecting honor and dignity of other MPs, not to meddle in political activity and private life of his colleagues.
This plank, however, will more restrict MPs since exactly MPs and Ministers are in the habit of taking keen interest in the private lives of each other.
Law-makers must be well-mannered and appeal each other in formal using especially “Dear Chairman”, “Dear MPs”, “Dear Minister”.
By the way, the mechanism for outraging and apologizing is regulated in a special article.
MPs are to respect Armenian state symbols, to know Armenian anthem verbally and to spread activity corresponding with the national interests.
It is also provided that the activity of MPs must be directed to growth of welfare of the society and progress of the state, they bear moral responsibility for the homeland towards present and coming generations.
This bill is in the big agenda of Parliament and will soon be entered on the agenda for weekly sessions.
