TO DO AWAY WITH SECTS BY REGISTRATION

Politics

During exchange of Parliament-Government questions and answers “National Unity” member Agassi Arshakyan addressed a question to Government over registration of “Jehovah Witnesses”.

According to Arshakyan, after becoming a CE member prostitution, drug addiction and sects increased in Armenia.

PM Andranik Margaryan announced he agreed with Arshakyan, adding Armenia displayed itself too democratic and exceeded all bounds.

”Laws must be applied to fight against the sects. “Jehovah Witnesses” are already registered and enabled to act within the legislative sphere. In case of disclosing frauds their activity will be forbidden”, PM said.

“In other words, the sects must be done away with through registration”, Arshakyan concluded.

PM reminded that besides “Jehovah Witnesses” there are 30 other sectarian organizations registered. He said their activity as well must be kept an eye on and to ban them to spread activity in case of finding omissions and breahes.

For that action PM expects for support of MPs, too.
