MIRONOV MEETS ARMENIAN OFFICIALS

I hope Armenian leadership will take with understanding the reasons that forced us to act that way”, Chair of Russia’s Federation Council of Federation Assembly Sergey Mironov, who is now in Armenia for his second visit, said Friday.
During his visit he discussed with Armenian officials the closure of a section of Russian-Georgian border that struck hard at Armenia as this road has vital significance for Armenia. The republic will face difficulties by approaching winter, because other roads connecting it with other countries become impassable in that season.
Armenian National Assembly’s vice-speaker Vahan Hovhannisyan talked to the Russian official when met him in parliament about tightening measures against those Armenians living in Russia without Russia’s citizenship. He proposed to settle the matter through giving them short-term status, which will provide them security.
