EXPECTING FOR NEXT PACE SESSION

PACE summer session was over in Strasburg. The Armenian delegates didn’t almost partake in PACE sittings. Except 2 MPS in Opposition, they were in the hall the day Robert Kocharyan made his speech. The Armenian delegates came to CE mainly when a sitting of their commission was held.

Implementation of Armenia’s commitments will be discussed in PACE autumn session.

According to Tigran Torosyan, head of Armenian delegation, they did their best in order that Armenia should not face a bad situation then. He asserts that during PACE summer session chiefly positive standpoints regarding the fulfillment process of January and April resolutions were expressed.

And what about the political prisoners, “A1+”? Tigran Torosyan announced there aren’t political prisoners in Armenia and people arrested for participation in rallies are not political prisoners. He also said those saying there are political prisoners cast a shadow on the reputation of the country.

As to “A1+” Tigran Torosyan cited the suggestion of Robert Kocharyan over conducting a monitoring to find whether Opposition has the chance to appear in TV air. However, Torosyan said he wanted “A1+” to return to the broadcasting area.
