ARMENIAN DEMOCRATIC PARTY LEADER COMMENTING ON PRESIDENT KOCHARYAN’S PACE SPEECH
Support A1+!Armenian Democratic Party leader Aram Sargssyan commenting on president Kocharyan’s speech made at PACE session on Wednesday said at a news conference in Yerevan some clarification of stance on Karabakh issue had been made for the first time.
Robert Kocharyan has eventually stated that Nagorno-Karabakh Republic hadn’t infringed Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity when seceded from it.
Sargssyan also welcomed Kocharyan’s proposal to put the issue on legal field. At the same time, Democratic Party leader was puzzled the president’s positive opinion of Key-West agreement that contradicted his own proposal.
There are some provisions in the agreement such as mechanical return of all liberated territories that can be accepted neither by Armenia nor by Karabakh, he said.
Sargssyan finds either package or stage-by-stage solution of the problem acceptable.
He offered third, fragmentary solution with communicative issues raised.
Voicing his opinion about compromise, Sargssyan said Armenia should agree to concessions within certain limits.
