Accused Edgar Arakelyan said at today’s trial he was beaten and cursed with foul language by policemen Tarverdyan and Mirzoyan while being kept in pretrial detention. The policemen were trying to extract testimony from him against the opposition leaders Stepan Demirchyan and Artashes Geghamyan. They wanted Edgar to say that Demirchyan and Geghamyan gave him some money for making seditious calls at the rally.
After hearing her son’s testimonies, Edgar’s mother demanded to show video record of attack on her son.
The only thing judge Pargev Ohanyan did in response to her demand was his calls for silence. Poor mother is believed unaware that the record is already removed from videotape.
