IVANOV CONTRADICTING HIMSELF
Support A1+!During the conference answering the questions of “The Armenian Times” Daily about the political situation in Armenia Russian Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov said he didn’t want to comment or interfere in the inner problems of Armenia. “We establish our relations with Armenia as a strategic partner basing upon historical and cultural, religious, military and political contacts, and treat Armenia as a partner”, he added.
Just after this Mr. Ivanov contradicted himself. “Ayb-Fe” posed a question: “Doesn’t the fact that according to Robert Kocharyan, Vladimir Putin supports him and the Armenian Authorities mean to intervene in the home problems of Armenia?” “I don’t think so. We have good, sincere and trustworthy relations with Armenian Authorities and there is no base to cast doubt on those relations”, Sergey Ivanov said.
We also asked Ivanov how he treated the arrest of ex Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan for political reasons. He said he couldn’t say anything since he wasn’t aware of the arrest.
Armenian Defense Minister Serj Sargssyan announced the Russian military bases will never be withdrawn from Armenia.
