CULTURE MINISTER IS NOT READY
Support A1+!”I have entered Government to return culture figures to the sphere”, Armenian Culture and Youth Minister Hovik Hoveyan announced at the briefing in Government.
Mr. Hoveyan warned journalists beforehand he had just assumed office so he had many obscure questions on the culture sphere.
”I was to speak in 3 months. But key bills were to be discussed during Government sitting and I was obliged to be present”, he said.
According to Hoveyan, during the Government sitting the bill on “Export and Import of Cultural Values” with some amendments was welcomed. The decision on allotting 50 million drams for monument reconstruction this year was greeted, too.
Mr. Hoveyan thinks it will be better if fewer festivals and shows are held in Armenia. “Majority of sums from the state budget is directed for such measures, and the historical and cultural values of Armenia disappear as a result”.
The decision on allowing 41 million drams to non-state press was made at Government sitting.
