NEW PARTY ESTABLISHED IN ARMENIA
Support A1+!One more party was established in Armenia. Its members left Democratic and Liberal Union of Armenia, headed by Seyran Avagyan after the 2003 presidential elections.
”I used to be the Vice-Chair of DLUA. After our Chair Seyran Avagyan sold the votes for his post of President’s Councilor, I put an application and left the party”, Spartak Meliqyan, the newly-elected Chair of the new party says.
The newly-established “Democracy and Labor” Party like DLUA, will strive to form a middle stratum. But the motto will be a bit different: “Worthy place for small and middle business”.
The new party hasn’t yet determined its role in the political field of Armenia. “If normal conditions for small and middle business development are not created soon, we are ready to go for opposition”, Mr Meliqyan announces adding he supports only sound and constructive opposition.
So the new party is trying to actively go into the political developments suggesting mediation for solution to the discords between Authorities and Opposition.
”To demand for president’s resignation in this phase is fateful”, party members think. “Democracy and Labor” Party will try to set up a group in Parliament, which will resist encroachments upon businessmen.
Party members are sure their voice will be heard more to Authorities among numerous parties since there are many businessmen in DLP.
In particular, Spartak Meliqyan cites himself an example as he is also the head of Zoravan Cattle-breeding Complex by combining jobs.
