PARLIAMENT SPEAKER URGED TO COMBAT CORRUPTION IN LAW ENFORCEMENT
Support A1+!After hearing Deputy Police Chief Ararat Magtesyan’s shallow speech, National Assembly Speaker Arthur Baghdasaryan presented the situation in law enforcement system not so optimistically.(BR)
He said tremendous numbers of police officers don’t mean that everything goes in due way in the system.
“As a rule, traffic wardens line roads at a distance of 100 meters from each other. They stop the most unprotected people. Never once they’ve stopped a jeep with privileged registration numbers on number-plates as they feared they might be bitten. In that case it is a warden who is unprotected”, he said.
National Assembly Speaker also said there are many complaints from provinces’ residents, especially villagers who come to the city to sell their products. They are being stopped and compelled to pay without any cause, he said.
Baghdasaryan urged to start combating corruption from that very system taking as example European experience.
