ARTASHES GEGHAMYAN COMMENTS ON PACE VOTE
Support A1+!The fact that only 41 voters have taken part in voting at the PACE session is convincing evidence of Europe’s indifferent attitude toward Armenia-related issues, says a member of Armenian delegation to the session Artashes Geghamyan.
This fact shows that the overall majority of the CE member countries take Armenian foreign policy not so seriously. From 21 votes cast in favor, 4 were Armenians’, he said.
“Every time we rely on the Europe, we feel bitter disappointment. It seemed, the decisions are thought-out beforehand. There is not a single case the Assembly’s opinion to differ from the Commission’s one”, Geghamyan said.
He is convinced, that for centuries, the world’s destiny has been decided by two or three countries. The same is going on today. The decisions prepared beforehand are presented to the community as the result of democratic process.
Convincing evidence is that one word is being inserted in Azerbaijan’s report and completely opposite one - in Armenia’s one. “As always they divide to rule. This time they will rule both countries”, he said.
Asked about removal of word “other” from the resolution, Geghamyan said he doesn’t view this as a victory. “If we connect our victories with presence or absence of separate words, we are defeated from the very beginning”, he said.
