”During 3 years Armenia carried out a serious work and it is now on the right way”, Armenian representative Armen Rustamyan announced at PACE sitting, stressing that there are problems, implementation of democratic elections first of all, but they are characteristic for all the post-Soviet countries.
He dwelt on Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He said in 2001 when Armenia became CE-member phrasings on Karabakh were more balanced and then changed. ”No monitoring group has been to Karabakh. One should either get occupied with this problem seriously or let any other structure having experience, like OSCE do that. OSCE realizes that it is very dangerous to take rapid steps”, Rustamyan announced.
According to him, Karabakhi conflict is being represented as Armenian-Azerbaijani. Whereas introducing Armenia as a conflicting part Karabakhi problem is moved to the background. By Rustamyan’s word, Armenia is imposed on an obligation, which it can’t and has no right to solve.
