VARDAN OSCANYAN FINDS SOME PROGRESS IN TURKEY’S ATTITUDE TOWARD ARMENIAN-TURKISH RELATIONSHIP
Support A1+!“Neither the USA nor Russia has problems with Armenia”, said Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan at today’s news conference. “The same can’t apply to our two neighboring countries”, he added. In his opinion, Georgia’s and Azerbaijan’s future is still obscure: it is not clear yet what kind of policy will pursue these countries’ new leaders.
Speaking on Armenia’s foreign policy, Oskanyan said he finds 2003 a fruitful year. In that year, Armenia proved to be stable and reliable state and partner, he said.
The minister noted that the republic has already fulfilled a huge number of its CE commitments. In his words fulfillment of the rest commitments depends on constitutional amendments.
Speaking on Armenian-Turkish relations, Oskanyan said despite no significant results had been seen in that field, some positive shift on Turkish side is still visible: Turkey are not such persistent in connecting bilateral relationship with Karabakhi issue as before.
Oskanyan also said that Armenian diplomats will engage in economic issues to speed up economic growth in the republic. Diplomats make all possible efforts to attract offshore investors and increase the volume of exporting national products overseas.
