USD CHAIR COMMENTING ON HUMAN RIGHTS IN ARMENIA
Support A1+!December 10 is celebrated as the World Day on Protection of Human Rights. On that occasion Union for National Self-Determination held a press conference. Union Chair Paruyr Hayrikyan commented on the human rights in Armenia.
According to Hayrikyan who used to be the Chair of the Committee on Protection of Human Rights, Armenia has joined almost all the significant international covenants regarding human rights, so it is a CE member in particular.
Hayrikyan thinks that the Armenian Authorities are strangers to a human being and human rights in general. ”Neither the president, nor Government and Parliament have stimulated progress of human rights in any sphere. They did some things for show under CE pressure only, /e.g, ombudsman’ institution or death penalty abolition/”.
