RAMKAVAR-AZATAKAN PARTY CAME UP WITH STATEMENTS

Politics

Ramkavar-Azarakan party held a press conference on Saturday to make public its two statements.

The first statement is related to the 1988-1991 pogroms in Azerbaijan against Armenians. The second one concerns Armenian-Turkish border opening.

The party Co-chair Harutyun Arakelyan noted that Azeri authorities as well as the opposition used anti-Armenian propaganda in their election campaigns. Ramkavar-Azatakan party activists will collect refugees’ testimonies to submit them to one of the international structures and file suit against Azerbaijan, he said.

The party’s another co-chair Mekhak Gevorgyan speaking on Armenian-Turkish border opening said he finds talks about the border opening too premature.

“Some politicians and businessmen are tirelessly trying to convinced community that it is a necessary step while Turk government says the issue is not even on the agenda”, Ramkavars say. They are sure those political activists making such statements can inflict certain damage to already established Armenian-Russian and Armenian-Iranian relationship.

Such important issues should be taken seriously and only highly competent persons should deal with them, Ramkavars say.
