ALBERT BAZEYAN REBUFFS HIS MP MANDATE

Politics

“Republic” party leader Albert Bazeyan, who has taken a seat in the National Assembly through “Justice” bloc list rejected his MP mandate today in favour of the bloc’s another candidate Emma Khudabashyan placed the second in the list after Bazeyan.

His decision is motivated by great reluctance to sit at parliamentary sessions along with such a sort of newly elected fellow MPs as notorious figures whose aliases are “Burnash”, “Muk” or “Kombikeri Vlad”, Bazeyan said today at Azdak Club.

Albert Bazeyan has taken such a step without pending for the bloc decision about participation or non-participation in National Assembly’s sessions expected to start in coming few days. The alliance is waiting for official results to be released by Central Election Commission today.

Answering to journalists’ question “is cooperation between Justice alliance and Dashnaktsutyun party likely because both are unhappy about the results”, Bazeyan said: “We make no difference between presidential and parliamentary elections. So far Dashnaks haven’t condemned election illegalities committed in the process of presidential elections. We have no intention to be involved into any negotiations related to state-building issues”.
