VAZGEN SARGSSYAN’S BROTHER DETAINED

On March 15 Armen Sargssyan /Vazgen Sargssyan’s brother/ was called to Office of Prosecutor for interrogation on murder case of Tigran Naghdalyan and was arrested. He was brought an accusation against and detention was chosen as a preventive punishment.

Armen Sargssyan is charged with masterminding murder of Tigran Naghdalyan, Chairman of Council for Public TV and Radio Company . According to information released by Office of Prosecutor, Hovhanness Harutyunyan, Aper nicknamed, testified against him.

Greta Sargssyan, Armen Sargssyan’s mother considers that testimony and accusation to her son as trumped-up. She went on an open-ended sit-in at the president’s residence today. The relatives of other October 27 victims – Rima Demirchyan, Anahit Bakhshyan, widows of Ruben Miroyan, Henrik Abrahamyan and Armenak Armenakyan as well voice their protest together with her.

All of them think Armen Sargssyan’s arrest to be political pursuit. “Tigran Naghdalyan was an important and necessary witness for the relatives of October 27 victims. Many depended on his testimony. Hasn’t ever anyone asked why Naghdalyan was killed after Yunoshev had announced testimony of Naghdalyan and other witnesses could have been crucial for October 27 disclosure. Naghdalyan’s death was playing into hands of only October 27 masterminds ” , they say.

Greta Sargssyan, being sure of her son’s innocence, demands to release him and unmask the real organisers of Naghdalyan’s murder.
