STEPAN DEMIRCHYAN: “ELECTIONS TAKE PLACE THROUGH IRREGULARITIES”

Today candidate for presidency Stepan Demirchyan voted in the election centre in the school after A. Chekhov with his family.

He announced the second round doesn’t differ from the first one, the election process is broken. He also said they receive many calls on alarm, so elections can’t be considered as just. Demirchyan added irregularities are more massive than in 1998.

He informed papers already voted for the next candidate appeared at night . On various pretexts more than 100 opposition members of election committees were illegally dismissed yesterday and proxies today. Nevertheless, Demirchyan noted to be sure of victory.

ELECTIONS WITHOUT NECKTIE

At 11:00 AM candidate for presidency Robert Kocharyan came to the election station in N 24 school with his wife and children. He was in a good mood and didn’t even wear a tie.

“If there weren’t a second round, it would be created” , he said. He promised the elections to be “well-organised and transparent”, but not free and just as “transparent means free and just” .

Kocharyan didn’t promise to punish those committing election irregularities. “The Office of Prosecutor is the one to punish and not the president. It is necessary to appeal to the Prosecutor and everything will be implemented legally. The president is not a policeman” , he said.
