OBSERVERS CRITICISING FIRST ROUND OF ELECTIONS
Support A1+!The heads of observation mission, who have expressed discontent with first round of presidential elections, met today with Artak Sahradyan, the chair of Central Election Commission. After the meeting the observers asked journalists’ questions.
Russel Johnston, the head of observation mission of the EU Venice’s committee, said the issues related to the illegalities taken place in the first-round were discussed at the meeting with Sahradyan. The major issues of discussion were ballot box stuffing and vote counting, he said.
Every effort should be made to hold the second-round voting without threats and deception, Russel Johnston said.
The observers attach a great importance to the solution of the problems related to the arrests, which followed rallies, he said.
