CIS OBSERVERS’ MISSION IN ARMENIA

CIS Observers’ Mission will post 40 people to Armenia to watch presidential elections process in Armenia.

After meeting CEC Chair Artak Sahradyan, Yuri Yarov, CIS Executive Secretary, informed the observers will arrive in Yerevan a month earlier the elections, from January 19.

“There are 11 provinces. And we know what our task is”, Yarov says.

The observers will represent election committees of CIS countries and CIS Parliamentary Assembly. There will be the representatives of separate countries, too.

At today’s meeting Artak Sahradyan promised to place Armenian appropriate Legislation, CEC decisions, Constitution in Russian at disposal of CIS Observers’ Mission.

CIS Observers’ Mission took part in the presidential elections of Byelorussia and the parliamentary ones in Ukraine. Yarov is sure of our CEC to arrange transparent and democratic elections.

Yuri Yarov also said Robert Kocharyan had told him the day before he was interested in the presidential elections to express the real point of view of the people .

Yarov promised Kocharyan they will tell him their standpoint if irregularities are found at the election process.
