Serj Sargsyan as the Head for Kocharyan’s Headquarters

Yesterday rumours spread as if Defence Minister Serj Sargsyan is to head the pre-election Headquarters of Robert Kocharyan .

If the news is confirmed, it may mean Kocharyan has infringed the Constitution, Law, Order and the words of his own.

Army must not meddle in politics , Kocharyan says. Power structures are to stay away from election processes, he thinks. And suddenly the present Defence Minister is as a pre-election Headquarters Head.

Lieutenant-General Vagharshak Harutyunyan as well as the former Defence Minister is sure the rumours to be a misinformation. “Kocharyan will never nominate a present minister as a headquarters head” .

“If Serj Sargsyan doesn’t send in his papers and continues to hold a leading role in election processes while heading the Army, it’s a Constitution infringement. It means Army interferes in elections” MP Shavarsh Kocharyan says.

MP Arshak Sadoyan says: “We succeeded to avoid bloodshed in 1996 thanks to having some key factors in power structures. We don’t have them now and any interference by power bodies will turn into bloodshed” .

He thinks to appoint the Defence Minister as the Head for pre-election Headquarters could happen in absurdity theatre only .
