IS GOVERNMENT LESS WORRIED ABOUT ARMY FIGHTING CAPACITY?

Defence Minister Serj Sargsyan is not pleased with the volume of the sum for the Army. “There is no Defence Minister in the world to be pleased with the budget for Army” , he states.
Though the Minister is not displeased with the Army budget, but treats it with understanding since the Government considered 2003 budget the one for social welfare .
MPs are as well displeased with the insufficiently financing of the Army. Especially in the conditions, the neighbouring countries venture bellicose statements.
Serj Sargsyan announces our Army never to be inferior to the neighbouring ones in the progress rate . He also states Army readiness and fighting ability to be conditioned by not only budget allocation.
“We have strategic partners and under some contracts, we get finance support, e.g, from Russia, USA etc ” .
Vahan Hovhannisyan, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee for National Security, Internal Affairs and Defence, is not satisfied either with the allocation for the Army or the budget in general.
National Security Minister Karlos Petrosyan is pleased with the budget assignment. “It is a realistic budget and we will be able to solve the problems we have” .
Nothing was changed in comparison with the budget of last year. Only 30 million drams were added for the pension part.
By the way, no separate allocation has been envisaged for terrorism prevention.
