WALTER SCHWIMMER'S VISIT TO ARMENIA OVER
Support A1+!EU Secretary General Walter Schwimmer completed today his visit to Armenia. As it is known, the visit isn’t regional -the Secretary General paid his visit especially to Armenia. Last year he toured Georgia. In his brief interview he said he intended to visit Azerbaijan though gave priority to Armenia, as there are still the problems, relating to political prisoners, in Azerbaijan. Speaking on Armenia’s CE commitments he said these commitments aren’t toward the CE but toward Armenian people. Schwimmer expressed the hope that Armenia will abolish death penalty as soon as possible. He discussed also Nagorno-Karabakhi conflict settlement issue during his meetings.
“Long-time status quo in Karabakhi issue is dangerous as both sides can increasingly take it as normal”, Schwimmer said.
