GERMAN LAWMAKERS MEET WITH THEIR ARMENIAN COLLEAGUES
Support A1+!Lack of democracy is better phenomenon than its imitation, Armenian Liberal-Democratic party leader Vigen Khachatryan said today at meeting with the members of German Bundestag. Newertheless, German MP Irmgard Schwaetzer finds that Armenia heads for the road of democracy and almost completely fulfils the CE commitments it accepted. However, it is necessary to carry out Constitutional reforms, she says. It would be better if the acting Constitution is respected, Ara Sahakyan objects.
Member of Armenian Nation-wide Movement Shahen Petrosyan says the present Constitution has being violated repeatedly by top officials of the country. He asked Schwaetzer, whether Liechtenstein citizen can become the president of Germany. Answer was “no”.
Opposition parties’ spokesmen presented their attitudes toward present situation in the country saying there is no room for market economy development in the country where power and economy is inseparable concepts and country’s leadership uses every means to remain in office, including closure of independent TV companies.
