THE WEST DOESN'T TREAT ARMENIA SERIOUSLY
Support A1+!"It is nesessary for Armenia to change the Authortities, or else inglorious future is in store for us",- says Babken Ararktsyan, the chairman of "Armat" / Root / social organisation. He explains the Authorities' change with that president Robert Kocharyan's policy is getting dangerous. Mr. Ararktsyan thinks that especially Kocharyan's orientation to Russia has led to that Armenia causes no interest in the region for the West which co-operates seriously with Georgia and Azerbayjan.
Mr. Ararktsyan considers dangerous as well Russia attitude to Armenia. As he thinks, Armenia that has become the member of Collective Security block, is treated the way thanks to which it has been striken off the economic co-operation with the countries that are the members of the block. According to the data Mr. Ararktsyan possesses, regress of economic indices has been fixed in 6 recent years in the countries of the block, unlike Turkey which co-operates with the West.
Mr. Ararktsyan reminded Lukashenko's words that Collective Security block is a new military-political one and NATO is to take it into account. Ararktsyan has no good expectations from the co-operation between Armenia that is nothing in the region and Russia that pretends to become a racist state.
Today Mr. Ararktsyan informed that Russia will have great influence on the forthcoming elections. "The political powers contend for one purpose only - that is - which of them will display its much more faithfulness to Russia and it is no mere chance that those parties' representatives have turned Yerevan-Moscow section of road into a trolleybus route" ,- says Ararktsyan.
By the way, according to Ararktsyan's words, National Armenian Movement will propose its candidate for the president's post in the forthcoming president election. "It is quite possible that we support another candidate who might have more chances to win a victory",- says Ararktsyan.
