HUMAN RIGHTS AND FREEDOM CONVENTION IS BEING DISCUSSED IN PARLIAMENT

Human Rights and Freedom convention as well as its 1st, 4th, 7th protocols are being discussed in Parliament. Armenia approves the convention though making an exception - that is - only demand "on arrest by exceptionally court agreement" won't be satisfied if soldiers and officers undergo administrative arrest. Armenia won't yet approve the 6th protocol on death sentence ban. Criminal Code will be passed change death sentence for imprisonment for life.

After the convention is approved, citizens of Armenia will possess the right to appeal to the European Court. The Armenia representative will be appointed in the European Court membership.
