The head of "Driver's Friend" NGO Tigran Qeyan expressed an opinion that exempting individual taxi drivers from tax liabilities will not result in a reduction in tariffs for taxi services. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Facebook that private taxi drivers could be fully exempted from tax liabilities. Now the government is discussing the amendment of the Tax Code. According to Pashinyan, this can contribute to the reduction of taxi tariffs. "The decision will be positive as individual taxi drivers will not have tax liabilities, they will not be subject to regular penalties and fines. But before this, most of the individual taxi drivers were not registered and did not even pay these taxes, so I do not think this will affect the tariffs. That is, paying taxes will not result in income growth, as most of these taxes have not been paid," said Tigran Qeyan with an interview "A1 +" and added that maybe there will be some changes if the gas price drops. According to him, individual taxi drivers do not earn so much money, about 10,000 drams a day, maximally-15,000 drams, which should be deducted because of the fuel consumption.
